Does The Sheet For Furniture Decoration Contain Formaldehyde?

- Apr 19, 2019-

Sheets usually made of standard rectangular flat rectangular panels of construction material for

walls, ceilings or floors. What do you know about the uses, advantages and disadvantages of these types? Let us give you a comprehensive understanding of the :

classification, advantages and disadvantages of the panels used for decoration.

Blockboard sheet

(1) Blockboard

The blockboard is a plywood with a solid wood core. and its vertical direction (different from the core sheet) is inferior in bending strength. but the transverse bending strength is high. Most of the market is now :

solid, glued, double-sided sanding, five-layer blockboard,

which is one of the most used panels in decoration.

Advantage:

Blockboard has good clamping force and high strength. It has the characteristics of firmness, sound absorption and heat insulation. The moisture content of blockboard is not high, between 10% and 13%. It is easy to process and used for furniture, doors and windows. Sets, partitions, false walls, heating covers, curtain boxes, etc., are the most used.

Disadvantages:

A. Because of the large amount of urethane glue used in the production process of wood board. the formaldehyde emission is generally high, and environmental protection standards are generally low. This is why most wood boards taste pungent.

B. At present, most of the wood board in the market cut corners during production. When the solid wood strip spliced, the gap is large, and there is a void inside the board. If the nail nailed in the gap, there is no nail holding force.

(2) Particleboard

Particleboard is a piece of buds, small-diameter wood, fast-growing wood, wood chips, etc.,

which cut into certain specifications, dried, mixed with rubber, hardener, water repellent, etc., and pressed at a certain temperature and pressure. A wood-based panel called a particle board because its section is like a honeycomb.

advantage:

A, Good sound absorption and sound insulation; particle board insulation and sound absorption.

B. The inside is a granular shape with a cross-displacement structure. the performance in each direction is the same. and the structure is uniform, so the nail holding force is good and the lateral load-bearing force is good.

Disadvantages:

A. The inside is a granular structure, which is not easy to milled;

B. It is easy to cause violent teeth when cutting boards. so the requirements for processing equipment are high;

(3) Fiberboard (Also Known As MDF)

The fiberboard made of plant fiber as the main raw material, and processed by hot grinding, sizing, paving, hot pressing and the like. The fiberboard has a density, the density is below 450 kg/m3. which called low-density fiberboard. and the density is between 450-800 kg/m3, called medium density fiberboard (MDF). and the density is 800 kg/ More than cubic meters called hard fiberboard (HDF). MDF used for the production of finished furniture. but also for laminate flooring, door panels, partition walls, etc.

Advantage:

A. The surface of the fiberboard is smooth and flat. and the material is fine, which is convenient for modeling and milling.

B. The toughness of the fiberboard is good, and it is not easy to break in the case of small thickness (such as 6MM, 3MM).

Disadvantages:

A, the fiber board has poor moisture resistance. and the expansion coefficient is larger after absorbing water.

B. The inside of the fiberboard is a powdery structure, and the nail holding force is poor. It is easy to loosen after the screw tightened.

 (4) Solid Wood Finger Joint Board

Finger joint board, also known as integrated board, laminated material, finger joint material. that is, a piece of solid wood piece that has processed by deep processing like a "finger head", because the wooden board uses a jagged interface. like two fingers Cross docking, so called the finger joint board. Since the raw wood strips are cross-coupled, such a combined structure has a certain bonding force. and since the surface plate is not required to adhered up and down, the glue used is small.

advantage:

Disadvantages:

Solid wood finger joints deformed and cracked. Good solid wood finger joints guaranteed but costly.

(5)Solid Wood Particle Board

The so-called solid wood particle board is actually a sheet produced by the particleboard process. and it is also considered to be a homogenized particle board. The scientific name of homogeneous particleboard called oriented structure particle board. It made of small diameter material, thinned wood, wood core, board skin, branch and other materials. It processed by special equipment to grow 40mm, 70mm, width 5mm, 20mm, thickness 0.3mm, 0.7. The mater of mm is a kind of wood-based panel which formed by hot pressing after drying, sizing and special equipment.

(6) Melamine Plywood

The melamine plywood board made of multi-layer plywood arranged in a crisscross pattern.  and the surface made of high-quality solid wood skin or technical wood as a fabric.  and produced by several processes such as cold pressing, hot pressing, sanding and health.

 (7) Melamine Veneer

The melamine veneer printed on the surface of the decorative paper and then impregnated with melamine glue to form a melamine finish paper. which is then pressed onto the substrate by high temperature. Because it requires high flatness of the substrate surface of the board. it used for the surface finish of particle board and medium density board. Such panels, which have decorated with melamine pressure veneers. are usually called melamine panels. The surface texture is realistic, wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, and waterproof. It is suitable for production and used for panel furniture.

(8) Solid Wood Veneer Finish:

The solid wood skin attached to the

MDF/chipboard/multi-layer solid wood board by high-temperature hot pressing machine, and it becomes a solid wood veneer. Because the veneer has imported and  divided, the valuable wood and the ordinary wood divided. Larger, so according to the material type and thickness of the solid wood skin, the grade of the solid wood veneer panel determined.
